Cebu is a fast-growing city in the central Philippines. Since 2010, owing to the sustained and collaborative efforts of a wide range of local and international stakeholders, progress has been made with climate-friendly solid waste management approaches in Cebu. The successful implementation of the integrated solid waste management at the local level and city-wide decentralized composting and recycling has reduced strains on landfills and helped mitigate climate change.
