Air pollution poses a significant threat to the health and well-being of the residents of Bangkok, Thailand. A study entitled An Assessment of Annual Mortality Attributable to Ambient PM2.5 in Bangkok conducted in 2020 looks at annual mortality associated with PM2.5 based on available air quality monitoring data from 2012 through 2018. The findings highlighted the multiple co-benefits of reducing PM2.5 concentrations from existing levels to meeting Thailand’s annual standards and international guideline values.
